Ryan Sheridan releases new album 'Americana'
County Monaghan’s Ryan Sheridan has released his new album ‘Americana’. On the album, Ryan puts his own interpretation on 11 songs by US songwriters, tracks that inspired him to pick up his guitar again having been forced off the road by the pandemic.
Ever since he travelled across America as a teenage dancer, as part of the ‘Riverdance’ touring stage show, the country has held a special place in his heart. ‘Americana’ is Ryan Sheridan’s personal thank-you to the sights and sounds of the USA. Keen to avoid obvious and overdone songs to cover, Ryan went on a six-month deep-dive into a contemporary American songbook. While one song here dates back to 1969, the majority of them were released in the last few years.
Recognised as a fantastic live performer, Ryan has applied his own high-energy percussive guitar style to the material, which he produced in the studio in Dublin. Ryan’s phenomenal drummer Ronan Nolan brings the crisp and punchy drums to the album.
Ryan is currently on a German tour for the month of May, followed by an Irish tour starting in September.
