Funeral Suits - Islands Apart
Funeral Suits will release their second album on November 25th, which will be their swansong.
The band formed in Dublin in 2009, and released their debut album “Lily Of The Valley” in 2012.
The band - Brian James, Mik McKeogh, Greg McCarthy and Darragh Grant - have issued the following message to their fans.
The release of ISLANDS APART will be our final act as Funeral Suits.
The last few weeks have been strange. Realizing that we couldn't continue, but ensuring we delivered the record to you, it's a weird place to be. We desperately wanted to get this out into the world. So happy, that our last offering as a band is a positive one.
There are many reasons why we have made this decision and most are too long and boring to go into now, but rest assured it wasn’t a decision we have taken lightly. We are all very much still great friends and we will continue to make music in our own rights in time.
Funeral Suits has, and always will be so special to us and from the bottom of our hearts we would like to say thank you. Thank you to anyone who came to see us, thank you to anyone who wore a tee shirt, thank you to anyone who listened to our music, thank you to anyone we met on our travels, thank you to anyone who gave a shit about what we did.
We hope you enjoy our parting gift: Islands Apart
Thank you friends,
We love you and we will never forget you.
Funeral Suits.
Islands Apart was recorded in Berlin with producer Jochen Schmalbach, and was mixed in Dublin by James Darkin. The album will be released on Rubyworks on Friday 25th November on all digital platforms.
